Thank you for your interest in joining the Northwest Rod and Gun Club (NWRGC) in Boyceville, Wisconsin. Our club is dedicated to providing a safe, accessible, and well-maintained shooting range for both members and the public.
General Range Access
The Boyceville Shooting Range is open to the public free of charge whenever a Certified Range Officer is present to supervise the facility. Current open range hours are listed on our website in events: www.nwrgc.org
Membership Levels
The Northwest Rod and Gun Club offers two membership options designed to support range operations and expand community access.
- Recommended Annual Donation Supporting Member only: $30
or
- Annual Fee to be a Certified Range Officer: $30
☐ Standard Supporting Membership
This membership is ideal for individuals who frequently use our facility and wish to help sustain our club’s mission.
Members are encouraged to:
- Help with range and facility maintenance.
- Participate in fundraising and club activities.
- Attend club meetings.
- Membership contributions directly fund the ongoing operation, maintenance, and improvement of the Boyceville Shooting Range.
☐ Certified Range Officer Membership
This membership level provides extended range access and authorizes members to supervise others.
Benefits include:
- Access to the range during the following hours:
- Weekdays: 8:00 a.m. until sunset
- Sundays: 12:00 p.m. until sunset
- Gate and office access codes to the rifle range.
- Authorization to supervise public shooting sessions.
Requirements:
Completion of the club’s Range Officer Certification Program.
A minimum of eight (8) hours of service per year opening and supervising the range for the public. Ideally, volunteers should cover 4-hour time blocks; if needed, coordinate with another Range Officer to share the shift.
Scheduling and managing your range openings through the club website calendar.
Participating in meetings, events, and fundraising activities.
- Our Certified Range Officers play a vital role in keeping the range open more often and ensuring a safe, supervised shooting environment.
Range Officer Certification
Certification classes are offered monthly during the summer, typically on Saturdays. Additional sessions can be scheduled if needed.
- Certification Fee: No cost for this year 2026
- Certification Validity: 3 years
- Recertification needs? (Year certified in _______)
- Renewals may include a fee in future years
- Prerequisite, prior shooting experience.
The training program covers:
Firearm safety and best practices
Range supervision and operations
Assisting and supporting shooters of all experience levels
- This certification also supports liability protection for supervisors and participants, helping the club maintain its insurance coverage.
